  • Food cost is one of the biggest operating expenses in running a restaurant. Ingredients are often perishable, and wholesale food prices have increased more than 25% in the past five years, according to the National Restaurant Association’s Industry Report.   • EMV, which stands for Europay, Mastercard and Visa, is a global standard for chip credit and debit cards.
